The extension communicates with the desktop app via a local connection (native messaging). The desktop app must be running for the extension to work.
Troubleshooting
Extension not connecting
- Make sure the FocusMe desktop app is running
- Try restarting your browser
- Check that the extension is enabled in your browser’s extension settings
- On Windows, FocusMe registers the native messaging host automatically during installation. If it’s missing, reinstalling FocusMe should fix it.
