The Tasks view in FocusMe
Creating a Task
Click Add Task to create a new task. Each task has:Status
Tasks have three states that cycle when you click the checkbox: Not Started → In Progress → Completed → Not Started When a task is In Progress, a progress slider appears. Drag it to adjust in 5% increments.Recurring Tasks
Recurring tasks automatically reset after completion, making them ideal for habits and routines.
When you complete a recurring task, FocusMe records the completion and resets the task to “Not Started” at the configured time. If you set a start time, the task resets at that time. Otherwise, it resets at midnight.
Due dates automatically advance to the current period so the task always shows the next deadline.
Streaks
FocusMe tracks consecutive completions for recurring tasks, displayed as checkmarks on the task row.
Streak checkmarks showing consecutive daily completions
- Up to 7 checkmarks are shown on the row, then “+N” for longer streaks
- Hover to see your current streak and personal best
- Double-click the streak to view your full completion history

Tips
- Build habits with streaks. Create recurring tasks like “Morning workout” or “Read 10 minutes” and watch your streak grow. The visual streak is surprisingly motivating.
- Use start times for reset control. A recurring task with a 5 AM start time resets at 5 AM, not midnight — useful if your day doesn’t start at 12:00.
- Combine with plans. Create a “Deep work session” task alongside a Block plan. The task tracks your intention; the plan enforces it.
