Plan Wizard - Overview
In this video we will provide a brief overview of the Plan Creation Wizard. Plans are the primary function within FocusMe that allows the user to target and apply access rules to particular websites and applications. Additional videos within the documentation library will provide greater depth and explanation on each section within the wizard.
A plan is made up of 6 unique parts, each with important properties to maximize the plans effectiveness.
In section 1 the user will first assign a plan name and notification details. From within this screen go ahead and enter your desired plan name. (pause) In most cases you will want to leave the “Status Notification” box checked, as notifications can be hidden in the future, even on active plans. The “Show Timer” checkbox, will enable a timer window to appear in the bottom right corner of your screen to show remaining time and other details. For the purpose of this video, we will keep this unchecked.
We will now continue on to a big picture view of sections 2 through 6. Again, additional videos will break down these sections into greater detail. The documentation library provides access to those videos.
Sections 2 & 3 of the plan creation require the most substantial input, as this is where users will assign rules and restrictions to both websites and applications.
Next, Section 4 allows the user to assign a Rule Type to the plan to tailor rules based on the situation by blocking or limiting access by time limit or launch limit.
Section 5 provides the ability to schedule the plan. Users are able to choose from a quick (once only) session, a daily/weekly recurring session, or the ability to use the Pomodoro method of scheduling.
And finally, Section 6 allows users to add plan protections. This feature allows FocusMe to keep you on task and prevents cheating or slipping back into unwise web or application habits without the use of a predefined password or key phrase.
We look forward to seeing you in the next video of the Plan Wizard series.
